SCHEDULE: Full-time

JobSummary:

The Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

 

EssentialFunctions:

  • Helps create a superior clinical identity byoperationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and qualityoutcomes.  Ensures adherence to standardsof care.
  • Supports efforts to reduce variation inclinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.  Ensures a culture of accountability andtransparency in the provision of care.
  • Supports the achievement of internal/externalbenchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures,and regulatory standards.
  • Ensures equipment maintenance is performedregularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
  • Manages admissions and discharge processes toensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Facilitates effective interdisciplinary carecoordination within and across departments. Ensures staff with appropriateclinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
  • Manages nursing practice and unitoperations.   Monitors and evaluates theprovision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures toensure patient and family needs are assessed and met.
  • Provides leadership in attaining andsustaining an unparalleled patient experience. Instills accountability forproviding consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate theorganization as a healthcare leader.
  • Reviews various feedback mechanisms and helpsidentify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Supports thedevelopment and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.
  • Leads in a way that inspires commitment to thevision/mission/values of the organization. Implements evidence-based employeeengagement practices.
  • Identifies development opportunities ortraining needs of individual employees and teams.
  • Provides coaching, feedback, and training toimprove performance.
  • Builds a competitively superior organizationthrough attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent. Ensures peoplewith the right skills and motivations are in the right role, at the right time,to meet business needs.
  • Assumes responsibility for resolving and/orchanneling employee grievances, disputes, or concerns according to appropriateprocedures.
  • Represents the organization positively withinthe community; participates in company-supported community/patient events andin-services.
  • Manages staff scheduling.  Maintains staffing in accordance with patientcare needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Manages operating expenses, including theutilization of supplies and equipment. Identifies cost reduction opportunitiesand implements actions to achieve savings.
  • Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improvepatient safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education& Experience

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, BSNpreferred
  • 1+ years of experience in an acute carefacility required
  • 1+ years of experience in leadership role preferred
 

License,Certifications & Training:

  • Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as aregistered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, inaccordance with law and regulation. State of Florida license or appropriate compact licensure.  If Florida is not the primary State on themulti-state license must establish Florida as primary on license within 90 daysof hire or within 90 days of establishing residency in Florida (whichever issooner).AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support required
  • AHA BLS or BCLS required
