Inspect and track equipment condition and performance while working in a tightly controlled safety environment. Assist with building to specification unique platforms for magnet systems using a variety of construction materials and methods. Install, modify, and repair piping systems including PVC, copper, threaded steel, Teflon fuse, vacuum jacketed, and acid DWV. Also install and repair foam rubber and fiberglass insulation. Assists in the relocation of delicate scientific equipment including x-rays, superconducting magnets, electron microscopes, and furnaces. Perform general maintenance and cleaning of lab, equipment, plant, and grounds. Tasks are completed with an understanding of complex process systems including magnet cooling and liquid helium production for safe isolation and deenergization.Qualifications High school diploma/equivalency and two years experience; or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to two years.
