The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and developing all marketing activities related to Swisher brand promotions, in-store Point-of-Sale, field communications, and new product programs. This role provides oversight and management of the Swisher Digital Asset Management Software and works closely with the software provider (Esko). This role is responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal teams including IT, Creative Services, the Sales Team and Brand & Trade partners. This position also represents the Marketing Operations Team sitting on various committees and project teams. The Marketing Manager has oversight of managing the $900k Swisher Trade Advertising budget, process and schedule.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Management: Management of promotions and new product development to include coordinating activities with Trade Marketing, the Creative department, Marketing systems coordinator, manufacturing and vendors regarding POP, racks, promotions, and production. Responsible for digital and custom POP project management.
  • Organizational Skills: Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to details and follow up. Ability to prioritize and problem-solve to deliver results.
  • Product Knowledge: Complete understanding and knowledge of Swisher’s full product line and promotional offerings. Ability to use that knowledge to support Swisher sales growth initiatives and support the field and customer needs.
  • Communication: Effective communication (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills. Engages with the field sales team & customers to develop constructive two-way dialogue. Writes all communications to the field including PP presentations, updates, POP notices and the daily backorder report.
  • Information Gathering/Portal Management: Adept at gathering information and data efficiently and provides regular updates on new images, products, etc. Updates the customer & image portals on a regular basis and continually updates the Product and POS Catalogs. Responsible for managing the Big Ideas website and committee oversight.
  • Trade Advertising: With the VP of Marketing and Brand Managers, responsible for developing all brand Trade Advertising messaging, schedule, budget and placements in a variety of trade publications. Works closely with the Agency to create brand messaging geared toward the respective readers.
  • Coordination: Coordinates with internal teams and external suppliers to manage and maintain POS inventory levels.
  • Committees & Teams: On a regular basis, participate in company teams and committees to support new initiatives, new items and customer programs.
  • Field Work: Conduct Field Work for the purpose of learning and observing retail practices and how our brands are placed and positioned. Interact with various field people this position supports and asks questions about how the Marketing Operations team can do things differently.
  • Special Projects: Manages special projects as assigned by VP of Marketing Operations.
  • Requirements

  • BS or BA degree in Marketing is preferred. 3+ years working in a CPG Marketing department.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Enthusiastic and goal driven with the ability to follow-up and follow through proactively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships and work well with all levels of employees, including senior management.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
  • Occasional travel required.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May be required to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
