    WHO YOU ARE

    As the Junior Cost Accountant, you will be an instrumental part of the company's finance and accounting team. You will be responsible for day to day cost accounting operations providing analytical, financial, and accounting support to the manufacturing plants. The position applies generally accepted accounting principles in providing information for use in short- and long-range planning and other areas as requested by management. The position provides recommendations to management in support of the achievement of Company goals.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform month-end closing requirements and analysis, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations related to inventory.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis for operations
  • Monitor and control budget spending and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Develop financial forecasts, assesses and communicates risks and opportunities to achieving the forecasted performance.
  • Maintain accurate standard costs for manufacturing products
  • Work with manufacturing leaders to identify and monitor progress of projects aimed at improving profitability
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and review monthly financial results
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and performance metrics
  • Work with production planning department to maintain control of inventory and inventory processes
  • Assist with fixed assets reporting, product costing, budgets, and physical inventory audits
  • Assist with requests of internal and external auditors
  • Prepare weekly inventory flash for comparison to forecast
  • Maintain and update the inventory master files as required
  • Maintain and update bills of materials
  • Reconcile drop ship/ direct import orders to supplier orders and customer invoices
  • Assist with physical inventories and cycle count programs
  • Follow and refine the Company's established accounting and internal control related standard operating procedures in accordance with SOX
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal
  • Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs,
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting field, or related experience
  • 1+ years of General Accounting experience
  • 3+ years of operational experience with an emphasis on manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting/general accounting
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions
  • Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts
  • Strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes
  • Work Authorization
