Job Summary

Internal Communication/Employee Experience Specialist  – will support Human Resources communication initiatives and report to the Corporate Communications Executive Director

The role

The Internal Communication/Employee Experience Specialist  is responsible for implementing internal communications strategies that support team member engagement, recruitment, diversity & inclusion, and other areas as needed. The Specialist will coordinate with members of the Public Relations (PR) and Human Resources (HR) teams to ensure regular, timely and relevant flow of information throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

This position is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Continuous improvement of core internal communication channels including video, newsletters, events, intranet, podcasts, social media, etc.
  • Development of a network of champions within each Baptist Health hospital to stimulate communication networks and develop content and plans to promote specific initiatives within a structured, crisp and coherent framework.
  • Manages team member communication content on the intranet
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify communication needs, target audiences, objectives and messaging.
  • Responsible for all video, copywriting, PowerPoint presentations, script writing and editing activities related to internal communications.
  • Supports external communications as needed.
  • Works with Baptist Health Social Media experts to develop and support internal social networking, video coverage and events targeted at team members.
  • Contributing writer for Juice, Baptist Health’s digital news hub.
  • Member of the on-call schedule for media and assists PR team with media as needed.
  • Brings a fresh voice in crafting messaging for day-to-day needs across various platforms.
  • Manages a copy calendar for ongoing needs across a diverse range of deliverables and serve as project manager to ensure communication initiatives are completed on time and as planned.
  • Providing the full spectrum of communications support: drafting emails, reports, memos, presentations, meetings, events and webinars, and/or social media posts.
  • Executes communication tactics including developing talking points, writing and recording content, newsletters, presentations and speeches.
  • Monitors initiatives and evaluates for efficacy. Provides reports and updates to key stakeholders, including team leaders and Executive Leadership team.
  • Provides clear communications on complex issues and topics.
  • The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in a communications role (prefer internal communications)
  • Excellent communication skills – very strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent project management, organizational, presentation, and videography and video editing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and meet deadlines
  • Work successfully both independently and as part of a team where consensus is required
  • Must have a strong sense of ownership, be result driven and proactive
  • Excellent in AP Style, Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint

    Education Required Bachelor's Degree Education Preferred Master's Degree Experience
