Job Description:
Provide patient care for a group of patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. Responsible for transporting patients, assisting during
procedures and cleaning, disinfecting and care of endoscopes and instruments according to policy and procedures. 
  •  Set up and turn over procedures room in the  morning and after each procedure.
  • Assist under physician/registered nurse guidelines  selected technical procedures during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 
  • Collects specimens and labels correctly following standard precautions and transports them to Lab using standard precautions.
  • Participates with admissions, transfers, and discharges per hospital policy and procedure.
  • Give support and reassurance to the patient during  procedures as needed.
  • Daily checks and stocks the emergency endoscopy  cart as needed.
  • Demonstrates proper care and handling of endoscopes 100% of the time.
  • Maintain and document Chemical Indicator test every load. 

Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical Degree
  • BLS from American Heart Association
  • 1-3 years experience
