What you will do Maintain the health, environmental and safety of the plant workforce by monitoring and evaluating health environmental and safety conditions; assuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures and governmental standards; and maintenance of the Health, environmental and Safety Programs for the plant cluster. How you will do it Develop and administer effective occupational health, safety, environmental and ergonomics programs, including health services functions and maintenance of related policy and procedures in accordance with Clarios Operating System and ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements. Support plant clusters for projects and risk reduction initiatives. Incorporate Clarios Best Business Practices in programs under the direction of EHS leadership. Educate, motivate and train line supervision and production personnel in good housekeeping practices, safe work procedures, PPE, etc. Assist in the administration of medical surveillance and biological monitoring programs according to OSHA standards and company policies and procedures. Manage the plant personal protective equipment, work clothing and safety equipment programs according to company standards and operating budget. Administer the respiratory protection program, including quantitative fit testing, respirator distribution, cleaning and sanitizing. Conduct analysis of data to identify risk and develop and implement effective plant programs for the identification, prevention and control of risk and occupational injuries/illnesses. Work with training coordinator to coordinate plant health and safety education and training programs. Maintain current awareness of applicable federal, state and local health, industrial hygiene, environmental and safety regulations. Maintain legal, governmental and company environmental, health, medical and safety-related records according to standards, including confidentiality. Administer the plant hazard communication program, including maintaining SDS inventory in online system: effective identification of all chemicals, chemical inventory and related training and education programs. Work with manufacturing and support operations to assure ongoing safety. Assist the line organization in developing risk assessments and safe operating procedures for tasks and investigating incidents. Develop and implement audit and observation programs to review and assure compliance with applicable health, environmental and safety standards. Overtime and off-shift work is required to meet internal and external customer requirements. Maintains professional competency through participation in professional education and training programs. Perform other duties as assigned. What we look for Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene or related field. Previous experience with safety in a manufacturing environment preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry consensus standards (NFPA, ANSI, etc.). Must be willing to work overtime and off-shift to meet internal and external customer requirements. Must be willing and capable of wearing a respirator when on the production floor. Prior use of Microsoft Office; ability to formulate reports, spreadsheets, charts and presentations. Ability to travel 10-20%.
