Nursing Director
Seeking a qualified Director of Nursing. Will be responsible for day-to-day operations of all Nursing Department personnel, 24/7/365. Will be answerable to Chief Operations Officer. Must have a Florida Registered Nurse license. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must have 3-5 years of experience in nursing, preferably in an Acute Care setting. Must be a well-organized self-starter. Must be able to effective direct and motivate personnel.
Must be able to communicate effectively, in person and in writing, with Physicians, Department Directors, Managers and Supervisors.
Nursing Units include Medical-Surgical Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Peri-Operational Unit, Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department.
Will work closely with Quality Improvement Director/Risk Manager.
Duties will include staffing, planning, organizing, directing, controlling and following-up with all nursing personnel. Must be able to present well in a board room setting for various assignments and meetings. Must be prepared to help nursing staff as needed, due to unexpected circumstances, emergencies, etc. Will also be responsible for assisting with pricing and selecting equipment for replacement when needed or when new services are added. Must understand budgeting requirements. Will be expected to keep overtime to a minimum.
