The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will develop and lead Lynn's financial planning, operating budget, capital budget, and year-end forecasting processes and related tools, reporting, procedures and policies. The Director will review and analyze budget performance results and develop insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, and cost reduction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analysis for the University. Oversees and conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting to ensure on-going financial viability of the University's operations. Maintains five-year financial plan for the University and coordinates with leadership and staff across the University to develop and integrate plans for strategic initiatives, net tuition revenue, fundraising, personnel, capital expenditures, and debt
- Reviews monthly variances to determine cause and recommend adjustments and/or improvements
- Develops capital expenditure plan in consultation with CFO, Facilities, IT and Advancement
- Develops budget, forecasts and variance analysis with budget owners and senior leaders
- Prepares documentation for Board of Trustee meetings
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required
- MBA is preferred
- 10 years of experience in the field of financial planning and analysisrequired
- Experience in higher education or a large not-for-profit organization ispreferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of computerized financial systems, preferably Workday
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Must have demonstrated experience with financial statement and report preparation
- Demonstrated ability with financial modeling
- Must possess effective oral communication, writing, organizational, analytical, problem solving, supervisory, and group leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders across an organization
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel at a highly proficient level
- Individual must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner
