A successful Manufacturing/Distribution company is seeking a "hands-on" Controller through Robert Half Finance to take responsibility for its accounting and clerical department. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Pompano Beach, Florida area. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The ideal candidate for this position will come from the E-Commerce Industry, effectively work within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. How you will make an impact

- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

- Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

- Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

- Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

- Excellent oral and written communications skills

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards

- High attention to detail

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

- ERP Implementation experience

- Command of e-commerce

- Retail E-Commerce experience

- Solid understanding of Sage MAS 90

- Proficiency in e-Commerce Application

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
