Under the direction of the Director of Auxiliary Services, the Campus Store Manager effectively and efficiently runs the operation of the university Campus Store. Paying particular attention to ensuring that all required texts are available for purchase via MBS Direct website and an attractive and well stocked supply of university related merchandise is available for sale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers in University Campus Store
• Assigns duties to workers and schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations
• Trains workers in store policies, department, procedures, and job duties
• Orders merchandise, supplies, and equipment
• Records delivery of merchandise, compares record with merchandise ordered and reports discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels
• Inspects merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed
• Recommends additions to or deletion of merchandise to be sold in University Campus Store
• Works with marketing and Communications Office to ensure compliance with University Branding Guidelines
• Prepares sales and inventory reports. Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote public relations
• May sell merchandise, may approve check requests written for payment of merchandise purchased in University Campus Store
• Creates Purchase Orders and controls and maintains updated inventory through Point Of Sale system
• May install and remove department cash register tape and audit cash receipts
• Performs customer service activities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months plus of related experience and/or training in the field; or combination of education and relevant experience
• The ability to walk and stand for over 2/3 of the time
• The ability to lift up to 25 pounds
