Job Summary
This position will be the functional subject matter expert for Logistics processes and best practices within Avantor’s SAP EWM landscape. Responsible for the setup and configuration of plants/warehouses in Avantor’s SAP ECC and EWM instances, identifying solutions within EWM for business process gaps and provide production support for EWM.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
Be the functional expert to support VWR’s SAP EWM environment.Works directly with warehouse and transportation business users to understand requirements and identify appropriate solutions.Provide production support for any issues related to SAP EWM.Work directly with SAP developers as required to provide guidance for any enhancements or bug fixes.Perform Unit Testing for any changes related to SAP EWM or the interface between EWM and ECC.Researches and designs technology standards and solutionsPrepare functional specifications as necessaryQUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
BS/BA in Information Systems, or relevant work experience, required.Minimum 5 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP applications in LOGISTICS modules, with a clear focus on EWM and WM.Strong understanding of the LOGISTICS and WAREHOUSING business processes.Participated in at least 1 SAP EWM implementationMust have configured an EWM warehousesSAP Certification and/or coursework a plusKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Knowledge:Expert knowledge with SAP EWM and the corresponding components of SAP ECC.Knowledge of the CIF and qRFC interface.Experience with de-bugging within SAP and some experience with ABAP development.Good understanding of MM/LO/WM areas of ECC.Skills: Strong technical analysis skills for creating optimal solutions for the businessMust have strong teamwork skills and the ability to develop working relationshipsExperience working with SAP EWM versions including 9.5.Effective written, oral communications and interpersonal skillsAbilities:Must be able to communicate with all levels of management as well as to employees in the businessAbility to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment, working independently and prioritizing workENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.A certain flexibility of working hours is expected.Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
