Job Description

We have partnered with a nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their Sanibel Island Team. This is a direct hire opportunity!
The Accounting Manager performs a variety of bookkeeping, administrative and community social services tasks.
The Manager will:
- Perform general bookkeeping functions.
- Provide analysis of finances relative to annual budget and program trends.
- Collaborate with department managers/directors to cultivate agency practices, protocols, policies and procedures.
- Manage some operations functions, including vendor contracts and insurance.
- Assist with maintaining databases for client programs and services.

Responsibilities:
- Month and year-end processes
- Revenue and expenditure variance analysis, including cash/budget forecasting.
- Tag and monitor fixed assets.
- Reconcile credit card statements.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Code account receivables.
- Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner.
- Pay any debt as it comes due for payment.
- Issue invoices as needed.
- Record cash receipts.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and additional entries as needed.
- Monthly reconciliation of all accounts with financial institutions.
- Create monthly financial statements and reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees.
- Collaborate with Executive Director, President & CEO, and/or Treasurer to assemble information for external auditors.
- Work with Executive Director, President & CEO and/or Treasurer to develop financial relevant financial analyses for use of management and the Board of Directors.
- Collect documentation for annual 990 tax reporting, as well as work with an external accounting firm to file 990 in a timely manner.
- Responsible for filing of Federal, State, County and City documents.
- Maintain the chart of accounts, annual budget and program/services budgets.
- Provide clerical support to management as requested.
- Collaborate with managers/directors to assist with Program Development Resource Manuals including outcome measurement tools.
- Assist with the Social Services Department with monthly reconciliations, annual budget process, and grant tracking/reconciliation.
- Provide monthly service data report(s) to United Way and Board.
- Provide Marketing and Grants Department with information as needed.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
- Ability to be self-directed and complete tasks in accordance with deadlines.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); preferred experience with case management software systems.

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance management, strong preference for non- profit finance and accounting.
- Bachelor???s degree or higher preferred.
