Accounting Assistant - Clearwater

Accountemps is seeking an Accounting Assistant for a client in Clearwater, FL who will be moving to Safety Harbor, FL in the coming months. This is a temporary to hire role paying up to $18/hour depending on experience. Accounting Assistant responsibilities include invoicing, bill entry, and processing payments. Ultimately, the person in this position will want to gain more knowledge and step in for the Accounting Manager as needed.

Responsibilities:
•Assist with payroll entries
•Adjust/fix the sales taxes and gross receipts taxes
•Manage unemployment payments credits
•Amend/fix/resubmit payroll taxes
•Investigate and adjust (as needed) loan fees account on Balance Sheet
•Investigate and adjust (as needed) payroll liabilities account on Balance Sheet
•Make adjusting entries for accrued property taxes
•Assist with any backlogged accounting
•Review controllable expenses for miscoding and/or inaccuracies


Skills:
•Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
•Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
•Familiarity with finance regulations
•Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
•Organization skills
•Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
