Software Engineer III - Security Solutions Team - Remoto

This position is full-time and location-based in Costa Rica; because of the Pandemic, our employees in Costa Rica are all working from home WFH.  Return to office in a hybrid model will be required in the future.

Team:  Security Solutions Infrastructure team.  The teams owns and supports the global platform that enables our customers to have a local delivery of Neustar’s products.    We are looking for engineers that thrive on constantly learning new technologies, are self-motivated and have a high level of engagement. 

Responsibilities include:

• Our team implements Agile development practices which require each engineer to develop, test, deploy and support their components.
• Strong programming and software design skills are essential, as are troubleshooting complex technical issues. 
• This role is focused on the development and operation of APIs and middleware.
• Demonstrated ability to build APIs from a specifications document is required.
• It is necessary for candidates to demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve complex issues that span multiple technology components.
• Engineers are expected to work with product management to establish requirements, followed by documentation and implementation.
• This includes new feature development, capacity planning and daily operation of the service.
• Working knowledge of DNS is required and a deep understanding of DNS protocols is a plus.

Qualifications/Education

• Degree and experience requirements are required for all candidates.  Degree must be in a STEM field and experience must be in a comparable software engineering role. 
• Minimum years of related experience is 6-8 years.
• Advanced Linux
• DevOps experience
• Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, VPN, RDS, IAM, AMI’s)
• Server hardware knowledge
• ITIL, ServiceNow
• Agile (Scrum, Kanban and/or SAFE)
• Control versioning (Git)
• Build Automation – Jenkins
• Deployment Automation - Ansible/AWX, Terraform
• RDBMS and NoSQL data stores
• Basic programming/scripting skills.  (Python and Shell), Ruby and GO are a plus.
• Containers are a plus - Docker, Kubernetes
• Advanced English skills required
• **Rotational after hours on-call support is required.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified
• Linux Certified
